LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Oct. 20, 2015) – Accomplished Arizona youth basketball event director Justin Peterson has licensed seven of his popular Just4hoopin events with the nation’s leading amateur sports organization, the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) announced today
“The AAU is excited to welcome Justin and hisJust4hoopin events to the AAU family this year,” Arizona AAU Governor Thomas Rogers said. “We are looking forward to working closely with Justin and involving him more as the AAU works to provide more quality youth basketball events throughout Arizona.”
The partnership with Peterson and Just4hoopin allows the AAU to increase its reach into Arizona, an area with significant demand for youth basketball opportunities, and offers a national geographic extension for Williams’s popular All Under One Roof event format to Arizona on Oct. 21-22, 2016.
“The state of Arizona is ripe with talented youth basketball athletes and high quality facilities,” Williams said. “The American Sports Center in Scottsdale is the perfect venue for an All Under One Roof tournament, which is remarkably advantageous for coaches, players and parents.”
Just4hoopin is a community leader in basketball with a tremendous following in the Grand Canyon State. The move to AAU ties Just4hoopin events with a recognizable youth basketball brand while providing participating athletes first-class insurance coverage.
“Having Just4hoopin tournaments sanctioned by AAU will give us the opportunity to change the landscape of youth basketball in Arizona,” Peterson said. “The AAU insurance alone is top of the line. If I’m a parent, this is a no-brainer to know that my child has medical insurance in case of injury.”
Peterson has been an integral part of the Arizona youth basketball community for more than 30 years. He has hosted hundreds of successful events and, driven by his passion for basketball, founded Just4hoopin in 2004 with the intent to serve the best interest of underprivileged children in Arizona.
Peterson was instrumental to the success of Basketball Congress International (BCI) in the early 1990s and he is dedicated to helping promote basketball as an outlet for all youth athletes to build self-confidence and self-esteem on and off the court.
“AAU has been around for more than 100 years, which says a lot,” Peterson said. “Teams that compete in Just4hoopin tournament will now have the AAU stamp of approval.”
