RECAP: AAU Girls Basketball Memorial Day Classic

AAU awarded 14 girls teams as the Champion of their respective division at the AAU Memorial Day Classic, May 24-27.

Orlando, Fla - Memorial Day weekend kicked off Friday, May 24 with the start of the AAU Memorial Day Classic. The event saw 387 teams with over 4,800 registered athletes converge on ESPN Wide World of Sports to take part in the four-day tournament. Pool play began Friday with single elimination starting Saturday.
After hard-fought games 14 teams across girls divisions would be crowned champions. Each champion was rewarded with congratulatory mini basketball hoops for their accomplishments.

AAU Basketball continues July with the month-long AAU Girls National Championships (2nd and 3rd grade – July 1-7, 4th grade – July 1 – 5, 7th grade – July 3-7, 5th grade – July 9-14, 8th grade – July 19-23). A list of event schedules are available at www.aaugirlsbasketball.org.
