PREVIEW: AAU Girls Basketball National Championships

AAU Girls Basketball National Championship season is upon us. From June 7 - July 23, the very best players compete for the chance at a national title.

ORLANDO, Fla. – July is right around the corner and that means it's AAU Basketball National Championship season, and Orlando, Florida, is home for many of AAU’s Division I, Division II and Division III Championship games.

Approximately, 29 girls teams have registered for the first wave of competition, including 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade (DI, DII, DIII) division. Check in for these teams begins Monday, July 1 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Competition for these age groups will begin with pool play Tuesday, July 2 and Wednesday, July 2, followed by two days of bracket play. Championships teams will be honored in an award ceremony on Friday, July 5.

Opening Ceremonies for all teams will take place at ESPN Wide World of Sports on Monday, July 1 at 6:00 p.m. and will feature Disney Entertainment elements, an on-field experience, fireworks and celebrity appearances.

8th grade DI, DII and DIII AAU National Championships will start on July 19-23. The International Championship will wrap of championship season also from July 19-23.

Games will be live streamed on FloHoops.com.

Rounding out the AAU Girls National Championships will be events held in Minnesota, Tennessee, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Las Vegas and Honolulu, making this a summer of basketball to remember. NCAA Certified 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11 Grade DI and II championships will attract elite college coaches to the Minneapolis, Minnesota area looking for their next generation of college players.
