PREVIEW: AAU Basketball Memorial Day Classic

AAU basketball is jumping back into action at the Orange County Convention Center and Game Point Events Center for the AAU Basketball Memorial Day Classic. From May 28-31, 215 teams, with approximately 3,225 athletes, from 14 different states and territories will be competing to win the gold.

ORLANDO, Fla. – AAU boys and girls basketball are jumping back into action at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) and Game Point Events Center in Orlando, Florida for the AAU Basketball Memorial Day Classic. From May 28-31, 215 teams, with approximately 3,225 athletes, from 14 different states and territories will be competing to win the gold.
The AAU was excited to bring back sports in a safe manner and AAU members have responded! The AAU Memorial Day Classic is currently at full capacity, and the waitlist is filling up! Thank you to all our athletes, coaches and parents for sticking with us through this past year.
Pool play will take place Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29, followed by bracket play on Sunday, May 30 and Monday, May 30. Championship games on Monday will be single elimination until one team is left standing.
Primary registration will begin at approximately 12:00 p.m. on Friday in the OCCC. Late registration will take place two hours prior to the team’s first game.
AAU Basketball will be following local, state, and federal guidelines regarding COVID protocols for this tournament.

Do you know of an athlete, a coach or a parent whose story might make us laugh or even cry? We would love to hear about it.
